Forscot is a Scottish based company set up to develop and operate a large integrated site for the manufacture of forest industry products
The intended location for the site is at Invergordon in the north east of Scotland. This offers a good balance between the sources and availability of key raw materials (including Scottish Sitka spruce) and transport routes and markets for the finished products
This ambitious project will manufacture sawn goods, market pulp and publication grade paper and it will also generate all its own green electricity. All of these will be made on a world class scale in world class facilities to ensure best economies of scale, environmentally clean operations and the manufacturing capability to meet the needs of large markets in Europe including the UK
The project is currently in the early phases of development and it is anticipated that operations will start during 2008, depending on progress on all the important project aspects
